On a summer’s evening at The Nehru Centre in Mayfair, London, on Wednesday, 12th July 2023, Suresh Kumar, the author of “Follow that Dream,” along with Lord Jeffrey Archer, hosted the highly-anticipated third book launch for their fast-selling book.

“Follow that Dream” unveils the inspiring true story of a British Indian family as they navigate the challenges of life while relentlessly pursuing their aspirations. The narrative begins during the turbulent period of India’s partition in 1947 when the family’s first generation makes the brave decision to leave their hometown in Kitna, Punjab, in search of better opportunities. The book portrays the obstacles faced by those who start afresh in a new environment, striving to provide for their loved ones.

This captivating story follows a young British Indian with a burning ambition to make his mark in business, politics, and the local community. Through the highs and lows, the narrative resonates with readers of all generations, inspiring them to persevere and “Follow that Dream.” The creation of this book has been a labour of love spanning over a decade, from handwritten musings on scattered pieces of paper to the polished version it is today. With deep gratitude, the book shares stories that highlight the ups and downs of life, ultimately echoing the sentiment that one has truly lived by following their own path. The motto that echoes throughout is “Opportunity is never far from those who seek it.”

“Follow that Dream has all the ingredients of a bestselling novel – emotions, romance, drama, suspense, intrigue, struggle, success, and more,” said Suresh Kumar.

Lord Archer expressed his delight in supporting Suresh Kumar and his book “Follow that Dream,” which chronicles a family’s journey before the 1947 partition and their pursuit of new beginnings in London. The book is on track to become a bestseller.

Suresh Kumar expressed his delight at the response to “Follow that Dream” and expressed gratitude for the encouraging reviews and comments.

Jaspreet Sukhija, First Secretary of Trade from The Indian High Commission, praised the book and commended Suresh Kumar as a kind and supportive individual who always lends a helping hand to others in need. He emphasized the importance of this book, which captures the historical journey of a family from Punjab, India, to London, UK, and how they worked hard to establish new roots in a new environment.

Pandit Dinesh, Bollywood Music Maestro and Manistream Music UK, who has recently been touring with the popular group Boney M, commended Suresh Kumar for his support of local artists and for organising high-profile Bollywood concerts for the community. He revealed that Suresh Kumar has a deep love for both Eastern and Western music, with Elvis Presley and Kishore Kumar being his favourite artists.

The book signing segment of the evening was a resounding success, with guests patiently lining up to receive a signed copy of “Follow that Dream” by Suresh Kumar.

Suresh Kumar expressed his admiration for Lord Archer’s captivating storytelling, and the audience was captivated by his every word as he explained his book writing process. Suresh Kumar acknowledged that there could be no better person than the renowned multimillion-selling author, Jeffrey Archer, to host this book launch.

The guests resonated with their own journeys from the Indian subcontinent to London in the early days when they travelled here in search of better opportunities and prospects for their families.

Suresh Kumar emphasised, “The United Kingdom has warmly welcomed immigrants from various backgrounds over the years, providing them with better prospects. We should always remember the debt of gratitude we owe to this country we call home and remain loyal and steadfast in our support. There is no better place than the United Kingdom.”
