Youth Group, the nation’s leading organisation in youth employment with a membership of over 1.7 million, has released new data that sheds light on the extent to which young people are lacking the necessary support and guidance to embark on successful careers and navigate the turbulent job market in the UK.
According to a recent study conducted by Youth Group, three-fifths (63%) of individuals aged 18 to 25 are unaware of the current career advice resources available to them. Additionally, nearly half (48%) feel limited in their ability to access crucial career guidance.
These findings coincide with the much-anticipated launch of Season 3 of “My Duvet Flip: The Careers Show for Young People,” hosted by the UK’s Chief Youth Officer, Jack Parsons.
The upcoming season of “My Duvet Flip” is supported by returning Season 2 partners Aviva & EY, and welcomes a new partnership with Totaljobs, a leading UK job platform.
Starting from July 1, 2023, Season 3 can be watched on LinkedIn, Youth Space, TikTok, and YouTube. The show aims to bridge the gap between the existing guidance provided and the needs of young job seekers, helping them make informed decisions about their careers.
Totaljobs, part of the global digital recruitment platform The StepStone Group, recognises the significant challenges faced by young people in the UK. Their report on the nation’s future talent, released in October 2022, revealed that 48% of 16-18 year-olds believed they were not receiving sufficient career advice at school.
With over 20 years of experience in assisting individuals in finding the best job for their circumstances, Totaljobs aims to empower and inspire the youth of the UK through its collaboration with “My Duvet Flip.” Season 3, hosted by Jack Parsons, will feature candid conversations with global business leaders, entrepreneurs, and politicians, delving into their career journeys and extracting valuable tips and advice for viewers. The series also offers insights into what drives these leaders to succeed and how they cultivate a positive mindset to start their day.
Season 2 of “My Duvet Flip” witnessed an impressive lineup of guests, including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, FA Chairman Debbie Hewitt, Sebastian Dettmers (Chief Executive Officer of The Stepstone Group), and Matt Brittin (President of Google Europe). The season garnered 9 million views and generated over eight times more engagement compared to the previous season.
Jack Parsons, CEO of Youth Group and the UK’s Chief Youth Officer, expressed his excitement for the upcoming third season of “My Duvet Flip,” highlighting the show’s mission to support millions of young individuals across the UK and empower them to achieve their goals.
